Ancestry.com wanted to encourage members to purchase the gift of a membership for friends and family. Ancestry.com engaged Candesa to build an integrated campaign that included a microsite, banner ads, HTML email and Flash welcome tutorial on the electronic side and a highly designed welcome package that included tutorials, welcome CD and yes, even a cedar chip with Ancestry.com logo on it. The idea was to embrace the recipient with rich tangible elements that made the gift feel tangible outside of the digital world where the real value lies.
